Seafood paradise. and Pond Fish?

This is one spotless market filled with tanks of live fish, fresh and saltwater, frogs too.
Oh yeah soft shell turtles as well as red ear sliders. Even live Sturgeon were available! This place is so well kept there isn't even a fishy smell. It is in Rosemead California.
It was kind of an anniversary outing. We had Dim Sum at a local restaurant.
There was a sign over one tank that read. "Long Mount Bass" They were large mouth bass!
Their English is a lot better than my Chinese
One can take home live fish, but the taiwan frogs and RES must be slaughtered. The frogs I understand but the RES are availbale live in dozens of places. So why the rule?

Wow that place looks so clean! The reason for not allowing you to take a live turtle or frogs for your pond is the released captive must compete against a native turtle or frog population, could disrupt an ecosystem and may possibly introduce new diseases. At least that's what I've been told. In general about the RES turtle that store only has a license to sell them freshly butchered. Only licensed "pet" shops may legally sell them as pets.

Also, RES under a certain size can only be sold if you agree they will be for "research and educational purposes." That is due to the potential for salmonella poisoning, to keep them out of the hands (and mouths!) of little kids.

The turtles were pretty big. Also soft shell turtles. Huge buggers!
I failed to mention they had live striped bass too.
