thought economy was picking up but we are trying to sell quite a lot of furniture and aren't even getting any phone calls . maybe we need to move to a better part of the country until we can sell it . guess we are pretty fortunate if that is my complaint for the day .........peace

I think it has a lot to do with our society.  Even in bad economic times, everyone thinks they have to have "new".   We started out with used furniture and I would still have no problem buying nice used furniture.   Five years ago when our son got married he only wanted new stuff.  I found a very nice oak bedroom set at a great price and they decided they could settle for used.

Maybe you could find a used furniture store that would buy it from you.

I ran an ad on Craig's for 70 fishing magazines. All like new. Some with articles by me!

I have had 3 resposes and a few promises to pick up.

Also ran one for Woodworking books. no replies yet. maybe 12 books.

had maybe a dozen phone calls . three said they'd be out and never showed . one showed up and bought a dehumidifier for $45 . the ad cost $57 so we are out $12 plus a dehumidifier . some nice stuff and fair prices , guess we will try again next year . could wait till economy picks up but think by then my ''heirs'' will have to hold the sale . .... .peace
